The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the National Education Policy 2020 & reforms in both school and higher education sectors.
This is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four-year-old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986, which is to establish new goals for India’s development. This new policy encompasses the realities of the world today, emphasizing skills that are developed through the right education inputs.
NEP 2020’s goal is to develop an India-centric educational system that will contribute meaningfully to the transformation of India into a vibrant and equitable knowledge society. We’ll be working towards this by providing high-quality education to all Indians.
