Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana provides insurance cover to farmers against any loss in crop yield arising out of many external risks like drought, flood, prolonged drought period, landslides, cyclone, storm, pests and diseases. For the purpose of determining the loss in yield, the State Government will conduct the process of Crop Cutting Experiment (CCE) on the notified crops in the areas notified for this scheme. Claims will be paid.
The department has observed that substantial amount of claims are still pending for Rabi 2018-19 and Kharif 2019 seasons where the figures of subsidy amount and actual yield admissible by the respective state government have been provided,” said Ashish Bhutani, CEO, PMBBY in a statement.
