In West Bengal, the state government planned to provide scholarships to school-going children belonging to backward classes and from minority families. West Bengal government named this scheme “West Bengal Sikhashree Yojana”. Under this scheme, financial assistance in the form of scholarships will be provided to school children so that they don’t have an issue getting an education. This program will help those who are suffering from an economic downturn and need education for their children. There will be some relief from the expenses. The West Bengal government has announced to provide financial assistance to children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Tribes studying in class 5th-8th. Under this scholarship program, they will be provided scholarships every month.
