Sundarakanda is the fifth stanza in the Ramayana. Kishkindhakanda ends with Hanuman approaching Mahendragiri for the breach of Lanka. Exactly there Valmiki Ramayana 11999 verses are completed and the first verse of Sundarakanda begins with the 12000th verse. Sundarakanda is also known as “Parayana Kanda”. There are 68 sargas in Sundarakanda. Hanuman’s breaking the ocean, Sitanveshanamu, Lankadahanamu and Sita’s trace of Rama are the highlights.
